Bulletins

Direbox can send traditional APRS Bulletins to make announcements to local stations, but it can also use bulletins as a 10-channel group chat!

To initiate a group chat, simply select any of the available Groups numbered 0-9 and start chatting.

Since groups are effectively public channels, anyone who's a member of the mesh can join any group chat - groups are not private, though they do use encryption or encoding just like direct messages if you have them enabled.

The advantage of using Bulletins for group chats instead of other modes is that most existing APRS implementations support Bulletins. This means that Direbox can use Bulletins to send group chats while non-Direbox APRS stations can still view and respond to messages as "pseudo-groups."

Many popular radios like the Yaesu FTM series use this mechanism for group chats, so it makes sense for Direbox to follow suit for maximum backwards-compatibility.
