About

©Direbox is a wireless modem that turns your radio into an off-grid messaging powerhouse! It enables you to send messages, beacon locations, check weather data, and more, all without the Internet.

Direbox operates using the time-tested APRS network[1]. Licensed amateur radio operators can use Direbox on their regional 2 meter band allocation, but since Direbox is frequency-agnostic, it can be used on any band, including license-free frequencies[2].

Unlike existing APRS and radio data applications, Direbox is incredibly easy to set up (no messy config files, compilers, or constant firmware flashing) and comes with a modern, responsive interface built-in that can be accessed from any device, not just a smartphone.

Notes

1. APRS is a trademark of the late Bob Bruninga, WB4APR

2. Not all features of Direbox may be legal on all frequencies or license types. It's up to you to abide by your jurisdiction's regulations.

3. Because Direbox is designed with licensed amateur radio operators in mind, message encryption is DISABLED by default and must be manually enabled in Settings > Encryption.
